Walsall Arboretum Coronation Celebrations
This works showcases a project I did to help promote the Walsall Arboretum Craft Group's special display for the Coronation, called "Charles's Garden".
I took several images of the displays, plus filmed it to create a video, showing the display in the best light and capturing the bright colours and interesting parts of the display.
The work was uploaded on social media on the days leading up to the Coronation and received positive engagements.
Walsall Arboretum Coronation Video
As part of the Coronation Celebrations in Walsall, I created a short video which would go on Walsall Arboretum's social media platforms.
I filmed parts of the Arboretum, which included flags, displays and showed the area in the best light.
I then used Canva to put the clips together and add music to create a short 2 minute video, which eventually be posted online on Coronation Day. Click here to view YouTube video.
Charles' Garden Photographs & videos
The Walsall Arboretum Craft Group had created a display as part of the Coronation Celebrations called Charles' Garden. It included embroidered animals, flags and vegetables - all created by the group.
I decided (before anyone in my team asked me) to go over there and take images and film footage which would go on Walsall Arboretum's social media platforms to help promote the display, as well as the group itself. I took several shots of the display from different angles to highlight the amount of work done.
For the footage I used Canva. I put the footage in a certain order and also included royalty free music. I created several videos out of these and downloaded these as MP4 files.
I edited my used using the Documents editor (including saturation & cropping).
The images and videos were then posted on social media and received positive engagement and comments.
Walsall Arboretum Craft Group Photographs
I was asked to photograph the Walsall Arboretum Craft Group themselves as another way to help promote the group via social media.
I meet several members of the group by the display they had created. I got them to pose on either side of the diplsay (with the horse in the middle). Next, I took shots of members of the group working on more craft work in the Visitor Centre to show where the display came from and how they were made.
These photographs were then posted onto social media.
Additional Photographs
During the time coming up to the Coronation, I also took a few photographs of additional things including Union Jack Bunting and the fountain which had been out of action for 15 years and had been specially be set up again for the Coronation.
Some of these image were used on social media, including the fountain, which was used as a cover photograph for Walsall Arboretum's Facebook page.
